Oddwink

Privacy

How Oddwink uses local game information, website hosting data and support messages, and how to contact the publisher.

Publisher and contact

Oddwink is published by Leonel Ngoya, established in Cameroon. For a privacy question or a request about your information, contact leonelngoya@gmail.com. This address also provides support.

Intended audience

Oddwink is designed for teenagers aged 13 and over and adults. It does not target young children. This intended audience is distinct from store content ratings, which can vary by country. Playing does not require a date of birth or an account. Game information is handled locally in the same way for players.

Information used to play

Names or nicknames, roles, words, votes, answers and scores run the game on the shared phone. Oddwink does not send them to a game server. No account or email address is needed. Prefer nicknames and avoid sensitive information. Game state remains in memory except for the local histories described below. In the iOS and Android apps, default names and duo priorities saved in Settings also persist; you can clear them in Settings.

Local history and deletion

To reduce repetition, Oddwink keeps identifiers and counters for drawn content. Separately, controlled randomness locally stores normalized nicknames, bounded counts per game and special role, and the most recent recipients of each role. Less-received roles are favored without enforcing a rotation: repeats remain possible. Reordering the same names retains their history; changing a nickname creates another identity. These histories contain no scores or complete game log. They remain in browser or app storage, without synchronization or transmission to a server. They persist across sessions; when storage is unavailable, balancing works in memory only. Clear website data in your browser, or use the names and role-history reset in app Settings. Clearing app data also removes the histories. iOS preferences may be included in system backups; Android app backup is disabled. Reloading the page or fully closing the app ends the in-memory game state.

Website hosting and technical logs

The public website oddwink.lndev.me is hosted by Vercel. When it loads, Vercel receives connection and request information, which may include the IP address, browser and operating system, approximate location, requested URL and its parameters, time, and request-processing details. This information helps deliver and secure the website and diagnose its operation. Do not put sensitive information in URLs. Native app games work offline and are not sent to Vercel. Retention of technical information depends on the records involved, service settings, and Vercel’s purposes and obligations. A viewing period shown in the console does not guarantee that every security log, backup or other provider record is deleted when it ends. We therefore do not guarantee a single deletion deadline for this information.

Providers and international transfers

Vercel and its technical providers may process information needed for hosting and security, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. The currently selected function region is Washington, D.C.; the website delivery network may use other regions. No external log destination is configured for this project. The provider describes its processing, transfers and subprocessors at https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-notice and https://security.vercel.com/subprocessors. Support emails are received through Gmail, a Google service, under its own processing arrangements.

Language, cookies, advertising and analytics

A functional cookie remembers your French or English language choice in the browser for 180 days. It contains no person identifier. You can remove it in browser settings. Website files may also be cached. The verified version contains no integrated advertising, tracking pixel, or advertising or analytics SDK in the apps. No audience analytics tool is integrated into the website. This does not remove technical information and operating statistics processed by the hosting provider.

Support messages and retention

If you email leonelngoya@gmail.com, your message may contain your email address and the information you choose to send. This information is used only to handle and answer your support request, with no reuse for other purposes. Messages remain in the publisher’s Gmail inbox after the reply until they are manually deleted. No fixed retention period or automatic deletion is currently defined. You can request deletion at the same address; immediate deletion is not promised. Do not send game secrets, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Shared phones, links and requests

Handoff screens hide the round’s private information, but privacy also depends on other players and device security. Results are shown to the group; masking does not guarantee protection against every copy or screenshot. An external link opens another service governed by its own policy. To exercise rights applicable to your situation, including access, correction or erasure, email leonelngoya@gmail.com. Depending on applicable law, other rights may include objection, restriction, portability and a complaint to the competent authority. We cannot remotely retrieve history kept only on your device: clear it in its settings. This notice will be updated if features or processing change.
